LSQ Lexicon for Franco-Ontarian schools

This LSQ lexicon project for mathematics and science and technology fields allowed a creation of 1,000 video clips of terms in LSQ for each subject. This project, which is funded by the Ministry of Education of Ontario, was developed specifically for the students enrolled at a school of one of Ontario’s 12 French-language school boards, or at the Consortium Centre Jules-Léger.

It enables the teaching staff and students of all levels to use the right terminology to communicate in LSQ in a learning environment, and thus promote success. These lexicons also can benefit the students’ parents.

In the process of creating the LSQ signs, numerous qualified experts with extensive knowledge of linguistics or other project-related fields were hired to form working committees. Several talented Deaf signers also worked with the directors of LSQ for the shooting. Cineall, our longtime partner, worked on the video clips.
